let passion take flight
don't let the end of your path be your dream
make the path you're on now, the dream you are living
life is now, live it with passion

The spark, as I like to call it, for photography began with a black and white photo a friend took of a close friend and I back in High School. Yes, many years have passed since, but I still have this photo today. It's a picture of us, just being us and captured a moment that takes me back to that place and time. Since this photo, I've always looked to capture the spontaneity of life; the laughs, the quirks, and yes even the frowns. In 2004, I took my first black and white film class, and it was then that I knew I had found my passion. I have since taken numerous film and digital courses, and just can't seem to get enough of photography.

I get asked all the time, what is your favorite subject to photograph? I always attempt to answer, but never seem to have a simple answer. There is so much to capture and when I'm behind the camera, I want to capture it all. In portraits and events, I blend documentary photography with an artistic approach. Photos should be more than posed images, they should tell a story. As for the rest of the world, I look to capture the beauty in simplicity. We live in such a complex world, and everyday beauty is easily missed. Even in chaos there's beauty, it's all a matter of perspective.
